Climatic Conditions Threatening The Kenyan Population
Climate change is posing an increasing threat to global Socio Economic development and environmental sustainability.Developing counties with low adaptive capacity and high vulnerability to the phenomenon are disproportionately affected.Climate change in Kenya has increasingly impacted the lives of Kenyans citizens and all the environment.Climatr change has led to more frequent extreme weather events like drought which last longer than usual, irregular and unpredictable rainfall, flooding and increasing temperature. As of now three consecutive poor rainy seasons in the Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) of Kenya have exhausted families’ coping capacities and left more than 2.9 million people in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, according to the Flash Appeal launched in September 2021 to galvanize action in response to the drought.
